to begin with, just berties' name....things have become a little clearer as we have gone on, and have tried to tally them up with my mum's vague memory....i am sorry for causing u all such hassle....maybe i even got confused and made things worse.....it is a lot to keep up with, and i appreciate all ur efforts

sorry chris dorothy wicks born 1918.....her dad is bert, born 1885(far as i can tel), mother believed rose simkins but needs confirming....dorothy went on to marry frederick geaorge rowe.......that may be academic.......we just need to confirm dot's mum....so i need to get her birth certificate......unless leonard simkins or minnie simkins can lead us there (they were roses bro and sis) dorothy wicks (roses' daughter) then married frederick george rowe

Possibly Bertie got married AFTER daughter Dorothy was born ... it has been known. I'll check March & June 1919 for a poss marriage. No I won't cos Chris has already checked 1919. Any chance Rose MAY have married BEFORE Bertie ? There WAS time before 1918. Dancer x

Hang on there Adam, Chris hasn't found a Wicks/simpkins Marriage, I was lining up potential simpkins given mothers maiden name on dorotthys birth cert.(havent posted yet except found a rose and brother leonard simpkins in luton in the same family) hang on there..

len and minnie were on the maternal side

dancer the family moved to clacton in essex........both sets of my grandparents, including my parents, auntie and uncle....but only recently like the 80's
