Hello Steve I have been sent a copy of the 1891 census with my great grandfather on which shows a sister I knew nothing about. Having checked births I believe she was Amelia Margaret Napier born Woolwich amj 1882.(does your BMD list parents as they should be James and Ann) In 1899 there is a marriage with either a James Henry Benton or George William Hill. I have looked on the national archives 1901 site and believe she married Hill as there is no Amelia Benton . So could you please look up Amelia Hill aged about 18 /19 with a husband James on the 1901 census Thank you Deborah |

Lesley If, as I think, John Fox's wife, eleanor Edwards was dead by 1861, and you want me to look for her birth record, then there isn't much I can do. She would have born around 1800 and as such there'd be nothing on BMD which is 1837 onwards. Sorry Steve |

Jackie 1891 doesn't have street index, but I found Vulcan street. There are no Upton's at number 9, there's a Hopkins family, but 7 is occupied by Uptons as is number 1 Kiln street (the next street), let me have your e-mail address and I'll send you the images. Steve |

Hi Steve me again with a quick question hope you can help Could you possibly look for a marriage between William Humphreys and Ellen ? William born 1857 and Ellen 1859 in Ardleigh Essex they were definitely still living there in 1899 when one of their children was born. i guess they could have got married from the earliest 1876 (Ellen would have been 17) and i guess they got married in Ardleigh. Thanks so much Steve Claire x |

Lesley There are 194 John Fox's who would've been of marriage age in 1830 on the 1861 census. Without more information it would be a huge task to try to find them. Steve |

Hi, Steve. Thanks for your kind offer. Could you please look on the 1861 cencus for a John Lineker b c1835 in basford Nottingham/Derby? I'm interested in any other family who may be living with him? Also, if you have time, could you please look on the 1891 cencus for a Kate E Perkins/Parkins b c1889 in Southampton. On the 1901 Kate was living at 10 bourne street Croydon Surrey and was the adopted Daughter of John & Elizabeth Howard (my GGGrandparents) She wasn't living with them on 1891. Many thanks, Gaynor. |
