Stephen, with the info/images you gave earlier I now have a few more look-ups. Hope you don't mind. 1861- Yorks Ann Garbutt age 52 widow born Blansley Park, Yorks Isaac Hesp age 39 born Raindale, Yorks. May have Elizabeth age 10 born Pickering, Yorks with him. Sarah Dunning widow (may have sons James or William with her) Mary Simpson age 16 - born Yorks, Sinnington as per 1871 census 1891 - Yorks William and Ann E Dunning - just married March 9/1891 so may be living with the Dunnings or Garbutts. From previous lookup: Could you send image of 1901 Wm., Ann, Chas and Mary Dunning. Transcript for Wm. Dunning 1871 shows a Rebecca born c1869 which doesn't show on image. Could you see if she is on the following page for me? Very much appreciated. Margaret

Hi Stephen I am looking for Hayes family members in London in either 1891 or 1901. The father is James Hayes, I do not know his wife's name but she was spanish, there is a daughter Sophia or Sophie Isabell Hayes who would be 5 or 6 in 1891, a son Henry and a son James and a few others, but that is all I have at the moment. If you can find anything, that would be great. Many thanks Kath

Hi - many thanks ..... tough one this .. could you trace on the 1871 census please Sarah Sutton, born Warrington c1818. She was married to Joseph Sutton but he died c1866. Sarah (transcribed SULTON) is at Duke St. Manchester on the 1861 & a visitor to a house in Salford on the 1881 Tatton St., so I am quite sure that she will be in this area on the 1871. It's likely that she will have with her at least 2 daughters,Sarah c1858 & Catherine c1852. and maybe an Emma, c1849

Steve Thanks very much for looking for me. Your guess about Jane Carter remarrying was inspired. I checked out the marriage in 1881 and found the name of John Collins. When George married in 1910 (under the name of George Carter) one of the witnesses was Harriett Collins. I had assumed it was her who had married. George was my Grandfather. I wonder why he changed back to Carter. I could have been born a Collins! I have since found them all on the 1901 census with the Surname Collins, along with a new daughter Anna, living at 64 Oxford Street, Leicester. They didn't move very far in those days did they. Do you think you could look on the 1891 again for me just to see where they were living. I am really grateful for your help. Many thanks again Bev
