Hi Stephen, Thanks for offering to help. I am trying to trace my great-grandfather John Farquhar who resided in the St Nicholas District of Aberdeen. Not sure when he was born but he got married to Catherine Dawson on 14 January 1889 and had a son Benjamin John Farquhar on 21 September 1889. Would like to know if John Farquhar had any more children and who his father was if possible. Many thanks. Jeffrey Farquhar |

Cheers Steve, Please don't go trawling through Woolwich for me as the last child Sophia was born in 1857 in New Cross Surrey,The first child Hannah was born in Woolwich in 1852/3, the middle child Alfred was born in Deptford,Surrey according to 1871 census. Have not found birth for Hannah despite checking 1837 online 1851-1857, & FRC for the same and even parish records for St Mary's Woolwich. But did find birth ref for Sophia so will send for her certif to get an address and hopefully they might still be there in 1861. Many thanks Best wishes Jenny |

Hi Stephen, Hello from sunny Sweden? Thanks for the offer of look ups, hope you can help me. Can you find the Tegg family for me in the census of 1861. I am looking for a William Tegg, born 1843, Tidmarsh, Berkshire. He is the son of John & Hannah Tegg, both born in Tidmarsh. I know that Hannah died in 1859 but not sure if John is still alive in 1861. Williams syblings are Emma 1821, Eliza 1825, James 1826, John 1828, Edwin 1830 & Thomas 1841. He was working as a farm labourer in 1851 and labourer in 1871. By 1871 he was married and living in Reading, Berkshire. His wife was Annie Maria, born Pangbourne. In 1861 they would have had 2 children, Annie Maria aged 4, and Emma aged 1. Hope you can help, thanks. Jane |

Hi Stephen - If your access to BMD records is other then Freebmd could you please check for - Arthur DEE, born Lambeth, Surrey, aged 2 in the 1861 census. at 8 West Lane, Rotherhithe, Surrey. He is not apparently on the 1871 census but shows up on the 1881. I assume his father was DEE, his mother's maiden name was probably DUGGAN. I have tried 1859/60/61 on freebmd but no luck unless I have overlooked the entry BUT only September PtoZ is available so can't check the records for 1858. Over to you. Thanks in advance. Rita |

Hi Stephen - If you have access to BMD records other than Freebmd could you look for birth details of the following. Arthur DEE, age 2 on the 1861 census, was with grandad Dennis Duggan at 9 West Lane, Rotherhithe Surrey. Arthur was born in Lambeth, Surrey, He is not apparently on the 1871 census but turns up on the 1881, still with grandad at 48 Marigold Street, Bermondsey, Surrey. On Freebmd I have looked through births 1859/60/61 but unless I have overlooked him then zilch results. I cannot access 1858 records as only September quarter PtoZ is available. Over to you. Thanks. Sorry Steve, Boyd was Margarets maiden name. She married Carr Robson in 1884 so she should be Robson on the 1991 census. John Nuttall Boyd was her brother, I have 3 womens names married the same date as him in 1890, so need a look up on the census to see which one he married. Sorry I didn't put it very clearly. Thanks Paula. |
