from 1837 online James Hawkins - COOKHAM - 2c 367 Dec q 1870 James Hawkins - ISLINGTON - 1b 344 Mar q 1871 There was one other James in the March q 1871 but he was James Henry J. - BARNSTAPLE, assume he's not yours Hope this help Sam

Oh Lou, you are going to kill me I didn't find this in the book it is from my Grandads grave he was buried with his in-laws I have just remembered. What it is I have all the interesting dates on one sheet of paper and graves on another. I am babbling now and I must admit I need to sort out my papers tomorrow. Zoe

Oh my ! I have just been looking through my Nannan's old birthday book and found her dad James Hawkins Born 14/12/1870 Died 12/11/1948 So he should be on the 1871 census, but I still don't know where he was born dah ! Zoe X

I like a challenge and I'm stuck with all mine at the moment. My two main lines are London and Essex. I live about 6 miles from Manchester. None of the records I need are online anywhere Ho hum.....

Not a clue, sweetie! There's nothing on freebmd or ancestry but they aint complete Try family rellies if you have any credits left. You'll probably have to do a search, say 1880 to 1890 for Henry Hawkins seeing as you can't use initials as a criteria but hopefully you might get one with Andrew as a middle name Worth a shot!

Hi Zoe I think I'd be tempted to try and locate the father's death and get the certificate. It would give you an address that could be checked on the census before and a better idea of when Henry Andrew was born Lou

Hi Sarah, Henry was an engine driver as far as I can see and James was a Hall Porter. I can't even find James on any census records though. Thanks Zoe
