Hi Lynda Withought narrowing down a search area within Somerset It'll be like looking for a needle in a haystack! However I did have a look at the 1861 image to see if I could make out the place of birth at all & to me there is the potential it could be St Asaph, which is in North Wales. It may be worth trying to look in that area. Have you looked in Birmingham already? The family were obviously there in 1842 when Charles was born. Sorry I can't be anymore help. Good luck Nikki |

Thank you for trying. I have her birth certificate for 1841 which gives Eddington as her place of birth. Her father was William Harvey a cordwainer (shoemaker) and Jane Harvey formerly Burch and I think I have found the family in Eddington in 1861 without Mary. I just wanted to make sure the siblings matched. Mary was working in Clifton in Bristol in 1861. You can't win them all. |

Thank you very much for finding Mary for me. I wonder if you could find another of my great grandmothers Anne Cavell aged about six living in South Stoke near Bath. I have found what I think is the family in 1861 but again without Anne who was working as a servant locally. I have seen other spellings Ann, Annie, Cavill etc. Thanks very much for your help last time. best wishes Anne |

Thank you very much Nikki, that gets me back another generation. I had the same family in 1861 but was not sure especially as Ancestry gives the name as cavell and one of the birth places as south stone. You are a great help. Anne p.s. I have been wasting time this morning and have just found a marriage for Emma and John. She was kind enough to have her brother staying with her for the 1861 census so I had her surname and what looks like a second marriage and other children in 1871. |
