Hi Sally, The 1881 census for Frederick Goddard is definately the right family. The 1861 is the right occupation, but the birth of son frederick doesn't seem to fit. On Frederick's marriage cert to Hannah in 1872 it says he is 23 but the only birth I have been able to find for him was in Oct 1846 in Lambeth. Parents, Frederick a Mercantile Clerk and mother, Matilda Reddick. On the 1851 census in London, there is a Frederick Goddard 27 b. Slough, Buckinghamshire, a City Police Officer. Matilda 28 b. Middx and son Fredderick 4 b. Lambeth, Surrey. I am very confused !!!! Mary

anne 1861 Isabella was a servant on census with a Elizabeth Hamilton 1801 and Samuel kilner james nephew 1837 at Penrith Cumberland. will do more searching in morning. ______ Diane will look for Mary ann ryans in morning.

hi i am trying to find out whether james stowe born 1839 in stratford upon avon warwickshire married to kate with 6 children william frederick herbert jane jesse and lilly are decendants of samual stowe and wife ester beesley samual was born in ettington in 1795 i have the family of james stowe of the 1881 census but there is no mention of his parents so i need help going back further possibly to the 1851 and 61 census if you could please help it would be much appreciated thankyou natasha hone nee stowe

Sally I have found a new name in my family tree, and I think I have identified him on the 1881 census after he was married. But would hope you can find him on an earlier census living with parents/siblings to kick start me with his family. 1861/1871 He is Edward Fothergill born Skerton, Lancashire aged 36 in 1881, (b.c1845) living in Skerton. He could probably have a sister Ann. Sorry, I know nothing more about him. Hope you can help. Many thanks Pauline

hello sally would it be possible to look at 1861 for brighton sussex l am trying to find some info on my great grandfather William Duncan Mcfee.( on some records hes called just duncan.) he was born in Scotland in 1825 l think but dont know where.l am hoping the census will show the place. he was married to Anne in 1854 and died in 1866 l believe,so he would only be on the 1861 or maybe 1851 census thaanks so much Irene Buckley
