Hello Mary, I did have this on your previous thread just before you closed it, but obvioulsy the information was not sufficient to trace him, so I would be most grateful if you could look for Frederick William Fenn on the US census He was born in 1875 Kensington The last census he was on was 1891 when he was living at 114 Fifth Avenue, Chelsea age 15 an errand boy. This census gives his dob as 1876 and place of birth as Notting Hill. He was living with his mother and siblings. His mother died in 1891 and the family scattered. I think that at some stage he went to the US, he already had a brother Percy b 1865 who had gone there in 1885. I have his details. I have looked on a US immigration site and there is a record for someone called Fred William Fenn of the correct age arriving in 1908,I think into New York, but not sure of that, but I can't access the records I am sorry that I can't provide more information and apologise if it is still too big a task. Hi Mary, I've tried in vain to locate an ancestor I know for certain was still alive in 1871 (as he was an executor for his father's will in that year). He appears on the 1841 census for Exeter in Devon, and also appears on the baptismal records of St Sidwell's Exeter. His name is James MORGON and he was born in 1825 in Exeter, Devon. It has occured to me that he may have emmigrated to USA (as his uncle and cousins did) or possibly to Canada (as the MORGON name appears there). I know its a long shot, but if you could do a quick surname check on the immigration records and see if there is any sign of a James MORGON born in Devon, emmigrating to either the USA or Canada with a birth date of around 1825. Its a long shot, but its worth a check. The cousins moved to California, and the Canadian Morgon's seem to be clustered around Ontario. Many thanks for your very kind offer. Very best wishes Jenny

Hi Mary, Regarding James Morgon He was born in Exeter in 1825. His parents were James Morgon and Elizabeth Burton. I think he may have trained as a tailor but not too sure about this as its taken from the 1851 census return. He was alive in 1871 (fathers will) but no idea whether he had left England before this and returned or even if he left for America. If you have anyone with the surname name Morgon (spelt that way) please let me know. The list for Morgan would be too exhaustive and impossible to ascertain if he's one of them. However, the unusual spelling would help narrow down the search field. Many thanks for all your help Jenny

STEVE 418267 Hi your Percy is certainly Elusive. I have tried searching for a percy with wife annie but can see nothing I have looked at hundreds of them. I am now about to search deaths to see if I can back track. they certainly are not in New York unless my eyes have gone squint (LOL) I have found like yourself Percy on the 1901 census in England but cant tie his birth date into any percys in america I suppose he could have lied about his age or just got it wrong. Will keep trying thou in between other searches. Sometimes if you keep going back you see something you missed the first time regards Mary
