If you think this is the correct family i can see if i can find anything else on the others. I couldnt find a Susannah Percival registered. Do you know where William was born or dates? xx

Hi thanks that is definately the right family as her date of birth fits so i guess i spelt the name wrong. William was born about 1868 i think and possibly was born in scarborough although i am not sure as he was a fisherman who traveeled about as they later ended up in scotland on the 1901 census! Thanks Claire This is them Their name was Purkis but no one had been able to find it and I looked on the 1901 site and found Purkes and wondered if this was them. Does it show an address they were living at? I have quiet a few Purkis bits and believe Tom and Lucy were siblings. Tom married Mary Susannah Prout, her step mother was Lucy. These relatives certainly like to keep us busy finding who was who Thank you for the Info Deborah

Jackie i found this Margaret McAlpine abt 1853 Glasgow, Scotland Servant Droylsden Lancashire I guess she was working in a school or something as there is a biglist and it is all pupils assistants or servants. i will keep looking to see if there are any living in cheshire. xx

Claire Thank you for your kind offer. Please could you look for my great-grandfather JOHN SMOOTHY in 1861? He was born in 1812, though later censuses give an age consistent with 1813, in Chelmsford, Essex. I have his wife Ann on the 1861 census with their first child Elizabeth, living in Richmond, Surrey. Ann describes herself as 'butler's wife' (John was 'gentleman's servant' on his marriage cert in 1858). Can't see John, who is with Ann in Richmond in all subsequent censuses. I wondered if he was with the family he worked for or staying elsewhere on census night. Many thanks in advance, nell

Claire - Could you look up George Morley born c1870 in Ireland married to Ellen Topp born Scotland had children Maud (1896), George, William, Ann and one other son - lived in Willesden, London and died c1904 making children orphans.
