Hi again Lesley Could you look up Amos CHARLES on the 1891 census for me please? He would have been 33 at that time. He was born in West Dean, Gloucestershire. If you would be willing to look for Frederick CHARLES too who would have been 31 born same place (they were brothers) Fred is missing from the 1881 so he may have died or left the country. KAREN RICCI I have found a couple of Joseph's on 1881 and 1891 census b:c1888 Birmingham. Do you know if he had a middle name? I cant find a marriage of Joseph to Ann sorry.. Also have found couple of possible births for Joseph.. Lesley

Mny thanks Lesley. Sadly my William was born in Manchester, probably before 1837 which is why I can't find his birth. Nor can I find a baptism on IGI so wondered about the Pallots. This could be his marriage to Jane, but again they seem to be firmly rooted in Manchester, Gorton area, and not Preston. I also can't find their children on the IGI so wonder if Gorton is not fully transcribed. Many thanks for all your help and for your message.

Lesley, Thanks for finding that marriage for me. Any idea where Chelsea St Lukes is? I double checked my copies of the 1841 census - forgot about the little boys who were born c1838 and 1840. So it looks like the marriage for John Weston and Amelia Manning was possibly 1837/8. Their children were Thomas, Henry, Adeliza, Amelia, Elizabeth, Jane, John, Harry, Frank and Arthur. Margaret

Thankyou so much. I've just discovered that they had another 2 sons that I didn't know about!! Thanks so much for that extra bit of information. Unfortunately, they may have died because they are not there 10 years later. Hope you don't mind if I ask you for some more information tomorrow, I won't bother you anymore tonight as it's late now. Hi Lesley Hope it's not too late for you. Could you be kind enough to lookup my great great grandparents on the 1861 census please. They were called William and Maria CHARLES. They would have been about 23-25ish in 1861. William was born in Oldcroft, West Dean, Gloucestershire and Maria was born in East Dean, Gloucestershire. I'm not sure whether the Forest of Dean would have been classed as Gloucestershire or Monmouthshire as I'm not sure where the exact boundaries of Wales and England were at that time. Mary was born in Duffied Derbyshire and all the children were born in Duffield Derbyshire but I couldn't find a marriage in Duffield.
