Hi Lesley, Thanks for your kind offer. Please could you look on the 1871 census for Samuel & Elizabeth Mellor both would have been about 24 yrs old. They would have had at least 1 child at this time also Samuel and would have been 1 yr old. Samuel was a shoe maker and they were probably living in Gorton, Manchester (maybe Brougham Street.) Can you tell me if there were any other children at the time? Thank you...Helen |

Thank you for looking again for the Parkinsons. I don’t know if John remarried, or at this stage much about the family. It may not be them after all, because by 1871 I was hoping to find the addition of some girls. I am told my G grandmother had sisters and she was born in c1865. It is still a mystery. Thanks again. Lesley Thanks so much for all your help, you've been brilliant. I've got the 1871, would that be just Thomas, Sarah and Amos age 13 living there? and the 1881 is the same plus a grandson called John Child age 6? I really appreciate all your help, it's helped me clear up a few loose ends and also put another piece of the jigsaw in place....cheers....your an angel! All the best Kath |
