Find Ancestors

Lesley, Thanks for finding that marriage for me. Any idea where Chelsea St Lukes is? I double checked my copies of the 1841 census - forgot about the little boys who were born c1838 and 1840. So it looks like the marriage for John Weston and Amelia Manning was possibly 1837/8. Their children were Thomas, Henry, Adeliza, Amelia, Elizabeth, Jane, John, Harry, Frank and Arthur. Margaret

Mny thanks Lesley. Sadly my William was born in Manchester, probably before 1837 which is why I can't find his birth. Nor can I find a baptism on IGI so wondered about the Pallots. This could be his marriage to Jane, but again they seem to be firmly rooted in Manchester, Gorton area, and not Preston. I also can't find their children on the IGI so wonder if Gorton is not fully transcribed. Many thanks for all your help and for your message.

KAREN RICCI I have found a couple of Joseph's on 1881 and 1891 census b:c1888 Birmingham. Do you know if he had a middle name? I cant find a marriage of Joseph to Ann sorry.. Also have found couple of possible births for Joseph.. Lesley

Hi again Lesley Could you look up Amos CHARLES on the 1891 census for me please? He would have been 33 at that time. He was born in West Dean, Gloucestershire. If you would be willing to look for Frederick CHARLES too who would have been 31 born same place (they were brothers) Fred is missing from the 1881 so he may have died or left the country. Thankyou Lesley for the information you provided re. Amos CHARLES. I have only recently discovered Amos and Frederick in the 1861 census, they were the children of my great great grandparents William and Maria CHARLES. They are not listed with them in the 1871 and I thought they may have died but then discovered Amos living with Thomas and Sarah CHARLES (as their son) and Frederick living with the Edmunds family in 1871. They appear to be the right ages but are they the same boys I wonder? Maybe they have been taken in by somebody else, possibly unofficially adopted I wonder? I suppose I'd better find their birth or marriage certificates to verify if their father was William and their mother Maria. I find it really exciting all this detective work!!!
