Please can you look up the following people on the 1861 census Joseph Thorn(e) born 1813 in Belper Derbyshire Mary Thorn(e) born 1820 in Duffield Derbyshire They should have children Samuel, Thomas and Elizabeth with them but if you could find any more children and where they were in 1861 I will be extremely grateful. I have been to the records office for Derbyshire and can't find them. Thank you in advance. Jenny |

Sorry, I didn't see the first message you left about 1871. I didn't scroll down the message list any further than the 1881 reply. It looks good, thank you Pauline |

Hi Lesley Thanks for the kind offer! I am helping a friend trace his fathers family. Thomas Bailey b 3/12/1932 in Birmingham, the mother Ann died two weeks later in the B'ham women's hospital d 18/12/1932. The father was Joseph Bailey who was supposed to be 44 at the time so makes him b. c1888 I think perhaps Ann was similar age as they had an older son but we don't know the name (would love to know where his family are). They seem to think the mothers name was also Bailey when she married Joseph (but could be wrong) We don't have a date for the marriage or any other info except that Thomas was placed in an orphanage and was evacuated to Nottingham during the war, his father was still around in 1946 (in birmingham) and apparently the brother was in the Royal Navy at the time. Any info on a marriage etc would be grateful although I do realise there is not much to go on! By the way we don;t think Thomas's birth was ever registered. Hope you can help Lesley Best wishes Karen |

Hi Lesley Hope it's not too late for you. Could you be kind enough to lookup my great great grandparents on the 1861 census please. They were called William and Maria CHARLES. They would have been about 23-25ish in 1861. William was born in Oldcroft, West Dean, Gloucestershire and Maria was born in East Dean, Gloucestershire. I'm not sure whether the Forest of Dean would have been classed as Gloucestershire or Monmouthshire as I'm not sure where the exact boundaries of Wales and England were at that time. Fingers crossed Much appreciated Kath |
