Hi Lesley, this is a bit of a long shot. I went to Bury St Edmunds record office yesterday and couldn't find what I was looking for. I haven't heard of 'Pallots'.( but I'm not yet very experienced!!) But maybe in the Baptisms you could possibly look up 2 names for me. I've been trying for ages to go back further on these. lesley, thanks for the look up for elizabeth mason and stephen james smelt . elizabeth mason is the one that i am really interested in as she can,t be found with her parents on any of the census and as you know i can,t find a marraige . .there is one other elizabeth mason in yorkshire born 1863 , and since they lied about their children's ages on the 1901 census i can,t be absolutly sure that the one born 1861 is her . catherine
