Hi Lesley, Bit of a very long shot but I'm still on the trail of Emma Walker. This was the address she gave when she got married in 1905. I say the address but it is quite hard to read, anyway just thought she might be there! As you know its very hard to find her. : - ( Regards Steve

Dear Lesley many thanks for the information - I am sorry not to have responded before now - just been hit with a 24hr lurgy got up about an hour ago and felt guilty as I'd left you burning the midnight oil on Monday :( really sorry Anyway YOU ARE SO FANTASTIC :) I'd not been able to find anything on Richard Benn, now you've found him in Yorkshire in 1871 I can start looking for him around there. Also you have the right Christopher Benn. He was born Lowther but should have been at Grange over Sands for 1871 as his daughter was married at GOS in March 1871 and gave her address as Kents Bank. Now the interesting thing is that on the 1861 (I'd found this but not 1871) his wife is called Dorothy and he has a daughter Catherine. Dorothy was NOT the mother of the daughter married in 1871. You say that in 1891 his wife is Jane and he has a son and daughter Emily. so it seems that I've either read the 1861 census wrong or this confirms my thoughts that he was married 3 times. I'd really appreciate the information for 1891 for Christopher and co. Finally, very many thanks for the information on Robert Short - the details of the step-daughter are very interesting and I shall have to look for this McArr in the parish records. Again another strange thing as his marriage to Jane Hagans is recorded in 1870 just a few months after the death of his first wife, so how did he get a step-daughter with this surname? Unless of course Hagans was her married name and this child was born out of wedlock from her first marriage. Oh boy what fun to sort this puzzle. Anyway, once again many thanks for all your hard work. If you can let me have the folio details for 1891 then I can get a copy and start to try and unravel everything. very best wishes Trish :)

Hi Lesley! Many thanks for the info. The info on William George I will need to do a bit of detective work. Willis was on the census of 1901 with Bertha & William Kemp. He might been 10 days old. & not 10 weeks. They may have been living in Mansfield but not sure. All I know is they moved to Uxbridge, Middx in 1903 & by then they had another son born in 1902. Willis died in 1904 at the age of 3. I'm tryong to get hold of his death certificate but the GRO havent got the proper info. There might be a mispelt on the 1837 online. It looks like a 0 but the free bmd has it down as a 29. Many thanks again for the info, Cherylx
