Hi Lesley, Many thanks for 1861 details. Any sign of a marriage for Elizabeth ? and Thomas Winterbottom before 1837 yet? Don't know where they married, Yorkshire or Lincolnshire. They are not showing on LDS. Thanks again, Margaret X |

Hi Lesley - mmm interesting ! Maybe I should send for Henry's birth cert to get the parents names as he is definitely Ellen's brother. I know Ellen was born in 1859. If that is her with stepfather in 1871 she would have been 12, does it state her age ? Also if her mother was Jane does that make it easier to find her birth (father George) in Kensington or Kennington ? How about looking for her on 1881 census - I know she married in June 1881 but believe census was in April ? Sorry to rattle on, just thinking as I'm typing. If you can answer any of those questions I would be so grateful, but understand it may be a pain. Thanks so much .... Trudy P.S. had no idea she was deaf !! |

TRUDY Sorry I have been so long but they are hard to trace I Have had another look at the 1901 Census I gave you before for Harry & Emma & when I looked on census I think his name says Henry.C..... Not Harry.C.. So I checked birth info and found this. Name: TOPP, Henry Charles Record Type: Births Quarter: March Year: 1861 District: Lambeth County: Greater London London Surrey Volume: 1d Page: 344 Lambeth Created 1st July 1837. In Surrey until 1889. Sub-districts : Brixton; KENNINGTON; Kennington First; Kennington Second; Lambeth Church; Lambeth Church First; Lambeth Church Second; Norwood; Stockwell; Waterloo Road; Waterloo Road First; Waterloo Road Second. GRO volumes : IV (1837-51); 1d (1852-1930). Lambeth. Registers now in Lambeth district. ************************************* I Have found a Birth for an Ellen Topp in Same place BUT its yr 1865.... I Have found 1871 with a Henry & Ellen Topp (States she is Deaf) they are Step Children including 3 other Siblings to Charles White & Wife Jane living in Hackney London. Could this be them do you think???? Its the closest I have come to finding them..... Lesley :~) |
