Hi Cheryl The ONLY Whitehead to be associated with a Marine Occupation is: Jas Whitehead 18 Fore St, Limehouse under the heading Mast & Oar Makers pg 168 The directory is listed by Occupations and names are under the headings in alphabetical order - not really a name searching one as over 274 pages to go through. Thats brilliant Debs. The Samuel Hanson has come up many times in my Hanson research - he was even a witness at my GGFx3 marriage so I guess he must be related. In fact I dont doubt he probably taught my James his trade. I have also found a fire insurance policy on A2A for Sam. The others I dont know - well I have ancestors with those names but no proven connection to these jobs. I will keep the info on the Hanson bit of my tree program. Everso grateful thanks. Oh if you get time Id appreciate if you could look up the Thomas Taylor under Taverns? And any Dixons in lighermen/dock side trades please. Understand if you are inundated. Very pleased with the info you have found for me. Thanks so much. |
