Jess, Could you please look on !861 Census of Staffordshire for a James Bennett aged about 34yrs born Tipton with a daughter Mary about 9yrs. He is on 1871 Census,living Railway St.,44yrs,a Moulder Married with a daughter Mary 19yrs.But no wife at home and,of course,i would like her name so i can start searching for the marriage certificate.

Jess, any chance of looking at 1861, London. for details of entry for Frederick (John) Barre(a)tt, born 1837, Kensington, likely to be in Kensington/Hammersmith area in 1861. Ideally homewith parents!!. Possibly with wife, I think Emma. If not is there an Emma or Susannah Bilbe(y) born 1822-1825 Woolwich, father Richard and mother Susannah? No other clues I'm afraid. Hello Jess, I am tearing my hair out trying to find the following family on the 1891 census. They appear on the 1901 living in East Ham, but the stree was only built in 1900! Frederick Charles Hall b1860 Shoreditch Head Helena Hall b 1861 London Wife Helena Hall b 1885 London Daughter Frederick Hall b 1886 London Son Beatrice Hall b 1888 London Daughter Minnie Hall b 1891 London Daughter Frederick is a butcher in 1901 and probably was in 1891 as his father and all his brothers were. And speaking of his father, I haven't managed to find a marriage certificate, have you any ideas? John Hall and Mary Ann Schofield, their eldest child, a daughter, was born in 1854 and their next in 1857 both in Lambeth. Hope you can help Simon

Can you post me an earlier ref to Rosina and her father ? i cannot find them in 1891 or 1881. if you 'believe' she helped her father at the fishmongers/shoe shop then it it not concieveable that she may also have been a domestic servant at some time too?
