Hi Clare, thanks for your kind offer. I am completely desperate for help and have been looking for my elusive ancestor for a long time. His name is John Potter, b 1831 in Pocklington E Yorkshire, to Ellen Potter who, I believe, was unmarried. He turns up in 1871,1881, 1891 and 1901 but not the particular years I would like - 1841 and 1851. I think he was bought up by another member of family and would love to know who. He married Olive Brightwell in 1856 and moved to Heathfield North in Twickenham. Fingers crossed ! Diana

Hi Claire Thanks for looking, sorry to be a pain with this one. On 'The Genealogist' web site that is all the information it gives. It does give 491 as the page number. i did try to query this with the site earlier but when I clicked on the 'query' button it told me my session had expired and to log on again, which I did a few times but still came up with the same message. In 1861 the family were in Sowerby and James was a Railway engine stoker. Don't worry about this if you can't find anything, I will email the site and see if I can get any answers from them. Thanks again for your trouble. Pam

Hi Pam, Just looked at the Hunslet disk again and the folio number 491 is definately just an introduction to the Holbeck area. Does the website you use give the folio number at all rather than a page number, i cannot locate a page number at all, just folio. Wonder if they are meant to be the same thing. Is Holbeck the correct area for your Attack couple to be in? Do you have them in 61 at all? Regards, Claire x
