Hi Philip, could you do 2 look ups please, if possible. My mother's birth - Muriel Norma Jones 1st Jan 1931, could be staffordshire or Nottingham, sorry but that's all I have. The 2nd is a marriage: George Jackman & Elizabeth Beddell, 1835 - 1939 George was born in Longford Middlesex & Elizabeth was born in Peckham Surrey. In 1961 they lived in Manchester. Hi Jess, You could be right, all the rest seem to fit....thank you. I know that the wife was a widow in 1881 aged 71, so may be she was a widow by the 1861 census, quite possible. Like you say. with a name like that, John Walker, he is quite impossible to find.....but at least I have a starting point now.....next step to find his birth, or apply for a marriage cerf, which might give me what I want...thanks for your help......again lol......Lilly
