Hi Sheila If your disc has coverage of the Poulton Le Fylde area of Lancashire could you check mid 1700 for a birth/baptism for Newsham/newsome/newshaw (this is Christian name ) followed by a surname that looks like Cumpsty Cumsty Cumpsted comstie or however they chose to spell it that time.
