Hi, can you search for a birth for a Mary Charlton DOB 1901 born to a Ralph & Amelia Charlton. The birth was recored in Gateshead. Also I need to see if the same person died young as she was my Father's Auntie and he cannot remember her ever being around. Thanks

Managed to find this one on the 1901 index! Transcribed as BOTTS (although they are called Potts), Daniel b. c1864 Stockport and wife Matilda 1859 Stretford. Should have 2 girls with them listed as step daughters, Margaret/Maggie Tooley b1885 Birmingham and her sister Sarah b1890 Hyde, Cheshire. Andrew, the district is actually Auckland. Births Dec 1899 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Charlton Mary Jane Auckland 10a 236 Her birth is on FreeBMD. Can't see a death before 1920 for her.

Colette, I only have up-to-date records for 1866 onwards. There isn't one there.

Lou, there's one in 1891 who is a Colliery Engineer. Might be him. Although, I have found another who is a (In the?) Navey. 1st one born Bredbury. 2nd one Cheadle.

Hi hon Hmmmmm! What I have so far.... Daniel Potts FULL AGE (bloody typical!), Batchelor married Matilda Tooley formerly Warburton FULL AGE Widow 26th Dec 1897 blah de blah. Occupation Mine Worker (so could be flipping anything!). Father John, Engine Driver Checked the 1881 on the LDS and came up with a Daniel b.1863 Bredbury with a father John who is an Engine Driver in a Coal Mine aged 48 b Adlington, Cheshire and he's widowed, Daniel's occupation same as Daddy. Does that help to try and find him in any other census???? Lou
