Find Ancestors

Tracey Please may I ask for more help? I've seen a marriage listed on freebmd for Herbert Bowers SKERRETT in Dec Q. 1908 in Upton. This is not far from the area where I am researching SKERRETTs who have distant connections with BOWERS.(ie. in Herefordshire) I can't find a Herbert being born in that area ( I do know of ones just Herbert b. 1837 and 1885) with that middle name. I can't find a suitable one in 1901 either. (The Ullingswick one is mine and accounted for) Can you help please?

Cliff, I found a Robert in 1901, but it says his father is Fred? I also found a household with father William, son William and daughter Margaret, but no Robert. What are William and Roberts occupations?

Helen, I haven't found any marrying Williams. That's not to say they didn't, just not within my scope. There is nothing to say that any of them did marry Williams and their name is quite common, so I'm looking for a possibly non-existant needle in a haystack.

Gwyneth, there is another Herbert in 1878, but I can only find ones born in Manchester on the 1901 census. The 1878 one was regittered in Wolstanton.

Just found the 1878 one dying in 1879 :( He might've been the son of another Herbert, born 1845 in Newcastle, Staffs.

Hi Tracy Do you think you could have a look on 1871 please for Thomas and Elizabeth Overman, they are in Maulden, Beds in 1861, Thomas age 53, farmer born Maulden and Elizabeth born Burnham Sutton age 53 (in 1871) They had children Edward 25, Arthur 24, Emma 22, Robert 21,William 20 Thomas 18 and Margaret 13 (in 1871 all born Maulden. Thanks Tracey the Kathleen E A could well be theres as Edward was working as a school board worker in Foleshill when he re-enlisted in the army his mother was called Ann, so the E may stand for Ellen and the A Ann. You have helped a great deal thanks very much. Col xx

Hello Tracey I don't know if you will be able to help me, I have death certificates for the following 2 people, which were my Grandmother and Grandfather. I was wondering if you could possably help me with their births. Marjorie Eliza Masters (Marsters) b. 03/11/1913 Islington London. William Edward Smith (might have been born Puttick or Puttock rumour in the family about his mother marrying a second time and him taking on the name of his stepfather) b. 10/04/1913 Islington, London. This is all the information i have on these two, not many relatives alive to ask now. The ones that are still alive can't remember a lot. I would really appreciate any help i can get on these two, as i have three small children and cannot visit records office for at least another 4-5 years yet. Thank you Michelle.

Tracy I have another 2 mysteries. I beleive an ancester Emily Chisnall (b 1869 Islington) married a Herbert Handley (b1868 Islington). The other is her brother Richard Chisnall (b 1867 Islington) who may have married a Louisa Jane and had two children Rebecca Louise (b1899) and Leslie Richard (b1900) However, I cannot find any hard evidence of this. Hello Tracy,I'm trying to find Jane Gudgin on the 1871 census.She was born 1845 ,in Weedon Northants,which is where she was in 1861.She married my ancestor John Cottingham in1861,and had his child the following year.By 1871,he was living with another woman in London,but i can't find Jane anywhere.She wasn't with her family in Weedon,although she died there in 1878.Any suggestions ?
