David, this is the family as I can find it... Henry G Guinness abt 1836 Dublin, Ireland Fanny E Guiness abt 1832 Enfield, Middlesex, England Mary G Guiness abt 1863 Liverpool Lucy E Guinness abt 1866 Dublin, Ireland Gersom W Guinness abt 1870 Paris, France So, the probabity is that they either married here, before 1863 or abroad somewhere. Given that Henry was a missionary, I'd say anything is possible. There are a few Overseas marriages on 1837online which you could search. I don't have access to much before 1866.

Margaret, unfortunately, their marriage is probably in the black hole on FreeBMD between 1861 and 1865. I only have complete records 1866-1920.

Hi Tracy. You did say mysteries didn't you? I'm looking for the first marriage of a Henry Grattan Guinness, born 11 Aug 1835 (IGI) in Dublin. His wife was Fanny Emma, born Enfield about 1831. She died in 1898 in Bakewell, he married again in Hastings in 1903 (IGI) and died in 21 June 1910. Can't find a marriage. They could have been married in Ireland? Or they were involved in missionary work so may have been married abroad, possibly Congo. In the 1881 census they were at the East London Missionary Institute, Bow, London E. in 1890 daughter Geraldine was in China, maybe the Mary Geraldine on the 1881. Geraldine had a sister, (not named) who published some of her letters. PS Can't find him on the 1901. David

Hi Tracy, Here is another little mystery for you!! Charles Poole born c 1845 in Yorkshire, probably Sheffield married Ann Wright born c 1845 in Sheffield. Is it possibe to find their marriage. It is not showing on LDS or FreeBMD. Their first child William Wright Poole was born 1864 and daughter Alice Poole born 1869 in Sheffield. She 'married' again by 1874 but can only find death for Charles in 1886 in Ecclesall Bierlow aged 40. I have Ann on 1861 census, General Servant to Dentist, 161 Cemetery Road, Sheffield and in 1871 she is back living with parents and two children, no sign of Charles. Hopefully, Margaret

Mary, I'll try again to find them in 1881, but they really could be anywhere. There is a strong Welsh connection, so they could be there, but I had a look and couldn't see anything. There is this one, but I can't decide if it's her ot not. John Edwards abt 1821 Skenfrith, Monmouth, Wales Head 122 Pembrok Lodge, Hereford St Owen, Herefordshire, England Elizabeth Edwards abt 1818 Kings Pyon, Hereford, England Wife 122 Pembrok Lodge, Hereford St Owen, Herefordshire, England Martha Edwards abt 1862 Hereford, England Daughter 122 Pembrok Lodge, Hereford St Owen, Herefordshire, England

Mary, I have given you all I can for her. You already have 1871. I can't find them in 1881, and she married in 1882, so is with her husband in 1891 and 1901. Not sure what else you're after?

Maria, I couldn't find any McGreaves or Parker births with maiden name Goater. You will have to buy the certificate of you want to know who she married.

Dear Tracey I am looking for info on a Florence Goater born 1883. She married in June 1908 either a Joseph McGreaves or Charles Parker - it would be great to confirm which? I'm struggling to find a death record, also any info about children. Any info would be great and it's incredibly kind of you to offer. Best wishes Maria Parkinson
