Hi Maureen Yep thats why I thought the 1851 age was right rather than the 1861. I know you could marry at that age but she said she was overage. 15 year olds to day could probably pass for 21 but back then, in a small parish where the vicar probably knew her? I'm definitely going to have to get to Durham some time to sort this line out, but if you could check the details of the 1831 Margaret next week that would be great. Thanks again Jacqui

Pitman... 11th April 1856 William son of Edward and Mary Maddison of Pittington Occ. Pitman.. 9th Sept 1857 Then manually searched till 1863 no other baptisms listed for this couple Maureen

Thanks for looking Maureen. Were the parents of the 1831 Margaret John and Margaret? Could be her she was 30 on both the 1851 and 1861! I assumed the 1851 was the correct one as she married 'over age' in 1846. Will have to plan a few days break in Durham sometime so I can go to the RO. Thanks again Jacqui
