Pitman... 11th April 1856 William son of Edward and Mary Maddison of Pittington Occ. Pitman.. 9th Sept 1857 Then manually searched till 1863 no other baptisms listed for this couple Maureen

Hi Maureen Yep thats why I thought the 1851 age was right rather than the 1861. I know you could marry at that age but she said she was overage. 15 year olds to day could probably pass for 21 but back then, in a small parish where the vicar probably knew her? I'm definitely going to have to get to Durham some time to sort this line out, but if you could check the details of the 1831 Margaret next week that would be great. Thanks again Jacqui

Hi again Maureen Glad to hear you had your own sucess as well as helping so many others. Re my Margaret Howe. I've been googling Auckland and am now wondering if she might have been baptised at St Helens (in 1821) rather than St Andrews as she gives pob as West Auckland on the census.
