Find Ancestors

Hi Tracy. I wonder if you can solve a problem that has been taxing me for years? I have been trying to trace the marriage of my Gt. G.father John or Jno COOK who was born in Whitehaven in 1852. and Mary Ann BROOKS born in Rockbeer Devon in 1849. John moved with his family to Barnes in Surrey between 1852 and 1857 they lived at Green Farm. I can find them on all of the Census records but can find no record of his marriage. In 1881 John and his wife lived in Battersea with their two sons Frank aged 6 ( my Grandfather) and George aged 5. I suppose that there is a chance that they were married in Devon but I have searched all of the records I can without any luck. Please let me know if you need any further info. Sorry Helen, you will have to search the GRO registers for this one. They did have a son, according to the 1861 census, in 1844 in North Bovey. Hi Tracey Sorry to bother you yet again but could you help me with another mystery I have. My great grandfather is called Robert W Fitt married to Jane Fitt nee French he was born c1845 in Birmingham and profession was a compositor according to the 1891 census for Kensington London. His children were Lucy, Emily and Nelson. His father's name was Thomas Fitt on his marriage certificate to Jane, (married in Swansea Wales) Now all I can find is a Robert Fitt married to Sarah I on the 1881 census with children Amy & Lily same birth place and profession. Do you think you could possibly find a birth for him or any other census detail prior to 1881 I am beginning to wonder if he is a bigamist as my grandfather Nelson was a bit of a gay blade. Shannette, I don't have Birkenhead, but he's not in Warwickshire. I won't be able to find a death before 1866.

Please can you find Elijah Palfreyman on the 1841 if you have it for Birkenhead or warks. He was born in 1799 in Warks and married Margaret McQuire in 1820. I am also looking for her death as he remarried in 1841 to a Jane Smith.I have him on the 1861 and 71 censuses in Birkenhead.Thanks.

Hi Tracey Thanks for your very kind offer I am looking for the Mottoul family, they lived in Swansea, Glamorgan. As this name is from Belgium, it is a very unusual name for Wales. I am hoping that there might be some descendants left in Wales. My grand mother was called Lettice Annie Mottoul, her father was Louis Mottoul and her mother was Catherine Mottoul nee Hobbs. Hope you can solve a few mysteries for me, I have found them on the 1901 census, although Louis and Catherine surname was spelt Mattoul. I have the birth of my grandmother/marriage/death but nothing for anyone else. Hope this isn't to much to ask you. Cheers Sheila

Hi again, Thanks for that information - that is him. Juliane(Julia) was born 1854/5 in Germany and Florence in 1876 in St Pancras. I think the deaths would have been registered in St Pancras. Emily
