Ellen, I am looking for a Bridget SHANNON on the 1881 census. She will either be in Glasgow or Dundee. She was born in Kings Co. Ireland. Bit confused about her age. Have a application for poor relief dated 1888 where her age is 59, but found here on 1891 census aged 80, so she could be listed as anything between 50-70 on 1881. Expect children Bridget 20yr & James 16yrs to be with her. Thanks in advance, Jim |

Elaine No sign of Peter. There's only one Peter Henretty or variation, of any age, in the whole UK. He's an Irish born labourer, b. 1853, living as a boarder in Durham. Sorry Ellen - gave you the wrong name - so many James' in the family..!!! His name was PETER HENRETTY. My mistake, however, was not in vain - I think the James Henretty you found was his brother - would you please send me what you have on him too. Thanks a million Elaine |

Hi Tom Sorry, no luck with your George and Jane - anywhere in Scotland or rest of the UK. There are no Yorkshire born George Partingtons (or Janes) +/- 5 years of 1837/8 on the 1881 at all. Sorry couldn't help. Regards Ellen. |
