I've got an Ebenezer Beattie, age 45, widowed, a Farmer of 250 acres, born Cummertrees, Dumfries, with his 4 daughters (Mary Jane, 17, Janet, 15, Helen 13, Annie 11) and 3 servants. HI Ted Don't know if you have this info already, but a bit of a puzzle for you in 1841. Janet and the children were at a place called Martingrett, Troqueer, Kirkcudbright in 1841, but William was not at home. I checked the IGI for children of William and Janet, and this really does look like Janet and the kids to me, as the Isabella is showing on the IGI. So we have at Martingrett: (All noted as born in Kirkcudbrightshire) Mary Milroy, 35, Agriculturist Janet Beattie, 30 James Beattie, 7 Isabella Beattie, 6 Mary Beattie, 4 Robert Beattie, 2 Janet Beattie, 1 Mary Pagan, a Female Servant William Swan, an Ag Lab.
