Christine, I can't find anything on her birth. Where is your information from? |

tracey On the Marriage Cert it says deceased for benjamin Ward. For those you found If Benjamin was born 1875 and catherine 1867 It would make him 17 when benjamin the son was born and 23 for sidney. He could be my Margeret Daisy's brother but I wonder if his age is wrong. Kathy |

Thanks for the offer of help. This is a brick wall I've been stuck on for ages! I am trying to find Charles Lane prior to 1901 census. On there he is living Whitworth, Lancs. 28 born Crookham, Somerset, (No such place exists). There is a Charles Lane born Downhead, 1872 but this is not him as he also appears on 1901 census. I have marriage cert for Charles (1896) stating his father (another Charles) is deceased but had been coachman (domestic). One of the witnesses was Eliza Locke and she and her parents were also living in Whitworth , Lancs. Her father was born Curry Rivel, Somerset and mother Allstock, Somerset. I think there must be a connection between Lane/Lock or Locke possibly by marriage and wonder if this is where to look next? Any help greatly appreciated. Sorry it's a bit long Bev |

Thanks for that Tracy. Can you look at 1871 census to see if the William B. Blake born 1871 made it on 1871 census and whose father was William Blake ? I have seen him on free bmd but because his ages on marriage cert. and 1901 census seem to suggest born in 1875/1876. I can't find them on 1881 census don't know if you can. Sometimes it takes a fresh set of eyes and someone with more experience. Thanks for your help with this. I've only just really started this and not got very far. Boo Hoo. |

Thanks for the offer, could you try to find John Guerin in the 1861 census. His parents were in Newcastle-u- Lyme but he wasn't with them. He would have been about 14. I found one who was 16 and on a ship, but said he was born in Canada which I know he wasn't. Sue |

Andrea, since he wasn't registered until Dec qtr, he won't be on the census which was taken in April. I can't, however, find him anywhere on the censuses except 1901. |

Thanks for that. I wish it were this one but he too is listed on the 1901 census as still living with his mother in Bedminster, Bristol. It's a complete mystery to me. Bev |

Jeremiah married Mary Fleming in England we think but it could have been in Wales? Theres no real proof that they were ever married? We know he was previously married to a lady called Elizabeth HodgKiss and they had a child called Kate E . My nan would love to know if he was still married to this lady when meeting his mum or had she died? I believe Mary was 50/51 when she died in 1943 so that would have made her birth year 1891/92!! there was a lady on this website who found a possible birth of Mary Ann Fleming in June 1895 BATH 5c 572...?? thanks kelly |

Janice, I don't know what you want me to do. I have looked and I couldn't find anything. Why not ask the GRO to have a look. They will charge you, but at least you'll know either way. |
