Derek, there are none born after 1912 in Lancashire/Cheshire. I am unable to check if they had any before that. You would probably need to find a baptism to confirm it, without ordering the certs. |

Frances, I can't find him in 1871 either, but I think he married Charlotte. I can't find any traces of a Lydia Hollingsworth, but I did find a death of a Charlotte in Dec 1867 Nottingham. |

Jill, if he was in the Boar War, he may have married abroad. There's an overseas section on 1837online. I just checked and there are only 9 possible pages he might be on. Could be worth you having a look. Just a thought - is there anything in his papers about a next of kin? |
