Kathy, do you have the 1905 birth cert? What does it say on it? Is there anything about her being born in 1885 on there? what was Benjamins occupation?

Tracy No sorry i dont have him in 1901 i dont even know when he was born and i cant even find the birth of his daughter Doris all i know is she was born in 1900 so i guess he was married around then! Christine

I'm really hoping you can help in any way possible! I am looking for my nans parents birth and marriage records.. My nans mother was called Mary Fleming, we believe she was born in the Bath/ somerset area but not really sure?about 1900..she died in Wales 1941/42 not really sure!! my nans father was called Jeremiah Sallows but could be spelt Salloss as it is on my nans birth certificate but we believe he was a bigamist and so the name changes slightly.. Jeremiahs father was also called Jeremiah.. We believe that Mary spent some of her time in a convent before getting married!and we also believe that she had siblings one being William Fleming. Jeremiah married a lady called Elizabeth Hodgkiss and they lived at 67 Winchester stree Salisbury.. He was also married to my nans mother Mary Fleming and they lived together with there children at 5 crichton place Cardiff.. i now this is a bit messy so please don't hesitate to ask me any questions, but i'm afraid i don't have much on them!! many thanks kelly

Hi Tracy Thanks for the Ellis marriage look up. As for Rose and Arthur I think it must have been just before WW1. I know they had a son Arthur born around 1914 and a daugther Rosie around 1912/13 although I don´t know the exact dates. The husband Arthur was killed during WW1. As far as I know they would have been married in Reading as my granmother never lived anywhere else. Thanks again Jane in Sweden

Hello Tracy Its me again!! You certainly helped last week in finding Henry Finch in Bury St Edmunds. Remember, it appears that he was the father of Ann Burroughs. You found him in the 1841. Could you please help me solve this one now! In 1841 Ann Burroughs snr is living with Robert Burroughs and three children in Bury, Mary, Thomas and Ann. Ann junior is my g-g-grandmother, but how do the other two fit in? Are they also illegitimate? The problem is that I'm pretty certain that Ann snr married a Burroughs because in a later London census she is living in the same house as a brother-in-law Robert Burroughs. If she married a Burroughs where is he in 1841? Hope this not too confusing. Are there Burroughs in Bury in later censuses, including the Thomas born in 1837ish? Any help appreciated, again! best wishes Jane

Sorry Jane, but I don't think I can solve that part. I don't think Thomas is Anns, but Mary might be, although she appears after Ann jnr suggesting she isn't hers either. I can't find the Thomas anywhere else, nor can I find Mary in 1851 but she may have married by then as she would be 22. There's this marriage...
