Hi again Gary, The census's are usually correct within a couple of years ... when it comes to age. The information on census's is only as accurate as the person who gave the info in the first place. Some children have been known to be given each others years of births. etc etc. Names can change slightly etc Census's were taken for HEAD COUNT purposes ... not for us future researchers ! The information didn't have to be spot on ... as long as every one was accounted for, and a population count could be done. Hope this helps ! Good Luck Elaine ;-) |

Cheers Jim That being the case, she could indeed have been born Violet Susannah WILCOX in dec 1889. Everything would subsequently tie up. How do I get a copy birth cert from the above info 9a 144 (does this mean something to someone????) Presumably this will hold details of her natural parents? cheers |

i am truly sorry esta, i am grateful to you (any everyone else) for the great response that I have received. I'm trying to sort it all out in my head at the moment!!! what I'm not clear on though is where george wilcock born 1833 sit in all this, I think we have managed to find a son george in 1871, but is this susannah's father??? it doesn't help that they lacked variety in their of names. cheer gaz |
