Thank You Louise, This might not be A England/Wales look up, but I have to try every avenue. I'm looking for any information on a marriage between George Nelson Mills and Fanny Ashby. The only 2 entries I have on them are in 1859 on their sons Birth certificate in Leith, Scotland. However, George was a Corporal in the 16th Lancers and they were only posted there for a while. George is also mentioned on his sons wedding certificate in Leeds in 1888. i've checked IGI and I can only find a christening for a George Nelson Mills in Ipswich, july 1837. I know they move around a bit in the Army but surely there must be records. |

Gobsmacked I am, Louise. Arent the discrepancies annoying though for peeps like you who go to all this trouble. My printout from 1901 Plumstead national archives shows James aged 29 hence 1871/2 calculation as per 1881 Westbourne issue. Head Peter is also a different dob and pob on your 71-81 census records. But enough! There is plenty to get on with here. Ivy on 1901 was Ivy Emily so that makes sense. Erm .. .. Marriage 1865/6 Peter Lock/e and Emily (Priestly?) Ryde/Bidde (IOW Hampshire)/Sussex ? Over the moon for 2006. Little dog, dish running away with spoon etc. :-) Jeanette |
