Hi I have been trying to get details of My great grandfathers family his name was Robert Currie Allan (some times spelt wrong on the census Allen) I think he was born in 1848 or 49 in Kirkpatrick Durham his fathers name was Robert Allan who was also a surgeon by profession I have no details of his mother but if you can find his details it would help with the missing details in my tree Thank you so much Lorna

Hello Dawn I am looking for the marriage of Alexander Francis Murphy tp Jane Cowie about 1840ish. They lived in Berwick (Northumberland) but I cannot find the marriage. Jane was the daughter of Robert Cowe and Robina Lamb who were from Foulden/Mordington just 10 minutes away from Berwick but over 'the border'. Greatly appreciate any help Regards Cheryl

Thank-you for your offer. I am trying to find the birth of DAVID McBURNIE LAURIE b Dumfrrieshire 1832. Also having trouble with his Parents: John Laurie and Mary Johnstone? Found one marriage in 1831. But this Mary born 1811 died in 1851 age 40 and my Mary is still alive in 1861. After David's Birth they moved to Leeds. Any help gratefully recieved.

Dear Dawn, I don't know if your very kind offer still stands but I am desperate so I will try and hope for the best. I am trying to find the marriage of Mary Frances or Mary Francis I'm sorry I don't know if the Frances part is her maiden name or her middle name but she was born c.1835-40. I don't know her parents names. The marriage took place between 1850 and 1853, they probably married around Glasgow. The groom was Francis Hill, he was Irish born c.1835 His father's name was Joseph Hill. Also, I am after the birth of their child James Hill born c.1852-53. Hi Dawn Very kind of your to offer to do look ups. I am looking for the birth record of William Heron, born about 1820. I am afraid I don't know the exact area in Scotland he was born, although it may be Dundee (family story). His father's name was William James Heron, but I don't know his mother's. Sorry if this isn't enough info to find anything, but I'd love it if you could check it for me. I am also looking for details of William's first marriage, which would have been sometime between 1838 and 1858 - nothing else to go on here, no details of the bride or actual date or location, but I'm guessing it was Scotland. He had a son also William who was born aprox 1837 (who married Margaret Tait in 1859.)As far as I can see from this marriage, William the elder was married to Jane - poss Janet Skinner.
