Hi Dawn, You have helped me so much in the past please can I ask for another look up. I seem to be missing some of the children of GEORGE GRAHAM and MARY STRONG. Hi Dawn The information I have is very sketchy but I'm trying to trace a chap called John Hay born 1840. He's on the 1861 census in London and his occupation is hairdresser - the census return says born Glasgow but on the 1871 it says Edinburgh! HI DAWN......... not sure how much of a challenge you like? I am looking for the parents names of this particular person.... I'll give you what I have:-....... JOHN DOUGLAS (cabinet maker) born abt 1814 midlothian Edinburgh (according to cencus& marriage certificate too Christina Mason). Can't find a death date for him either (he is on the 1851 cencus St Cuthbert,Edinburgh...and youngest son I've found born 2/11/1860, can't find JOHN on 1861 Cencus, found eldest son as a border at the age of 15 by then) JOHN DOUGLAS died before 1868 when his eldest son John Jnr married (as it has him as deceased)......... you can see how many hours I've spent trying to figure this one out.........slowly going mad!! Dawn, Can you please check for Charlotte MacDonald born in 1824. Place of birth shown on census as Edinburgh but maybe in the surrounding area. Parents James MacDonald and Jane, do not know the maiden name but she was born in Belford, Northumberland. Thank you for your help. Marion

Could you possibly look up any information about Buchans. They are from Peterhead. A Robert Buchan approx 1850? married unknown May. Had 5 children Chrissie, Nina, Kate, Willam, Margaret. The Unknown May has a mother who's maiden name is Forbes. I just feel like i'm hitting a brick wall all the time with this one!!!
