Please see if you can get further on one of my tricky ones - Catherine PERRIE- age 8 months. Mother had died Feb 1881 and Father Robert PERRIE is listed as lodger at In-Laws house (family BRODIE) but no Catherine. ?Maybe at wet nurse? They were living at Clippens Square Kilbarchan Renfrewshire. If it's not too much trouble can you have a bit of a look at neighbours etc around the village for her - in case there are any baby Catherine's that have been mistakenly given the other family's surname. I think the village is fairly small. Thanks, Fiona |

Hi Margaret Please could you see if you can find a Walter Ferguson (not sure of the spelling) he was a carpenter and would have been adult when his daughter Minnie was born in 1868. Minnie was supposted to have been born in Scotland (family lore) but slid south and had an illegitemate daughter in London in 1885. She might have been in Scotland too in 1881 but in 1891-1901 she said she was born in Notting Hill. She married in 1893 and said her father was dead by then. She is one of my brick walls so if you could find her father I would be delighted. Many thanks Felicity |

Dear Margaret The mystery deepens.... Many thanks for looking it up, I cannot believe she lied about her father's name, he's not in E&W in 1881 either but I have found a James with a little Minnie of the right age in Islington. Thanks again Cheers Felicity |
