Sub-districts : Broadstairs; Margate; Minster; Ramsgate. GRO volumes : V (1837-51); 2a (1852-1930). So 1891 Head is a Coastguard ~ ohh first one of those I've seen as occupation while on searches! I posted this on your previous thread but did not get a response. Does this mean you could not help? have a brick wall which no-one has been able to help me break down. Hope you can help Jane Ann Gorringe nee Robertson b 13/4/1872 Tweedmouth And her children George Edward Gorringe b 17/12/1895 Sunderland (My grandfather) Margaret Gorringe b DecQ 1897 Sunderland Thomas Gorringe b Mar Q 1900 Grimsby. She had two more children in 1902 and 1907 in Grimsby. I have found her husband George Edward b 19/5/1870 living in Grimsby in the 1901 census with his brother James R b 1883. But I cannot find Jane or the three children anywhere in 1901. If you can find these for me, I will be eternally grateful. Many thanks in advance Jo

That's great news I will now send for Alice birth cert.I have been lucky my gran Amy was organised and have got her birth and marriage certs(originals) Alice and Arthur are being the tricky ones especially Arthur. Hi Zoe, When James married he was a caretaker for the royal insurance buildings in Sheffield, he lived there too. His father was Deceased and occupation was an Engine Driver. Thanks for your help on this major mystery. Zoe :)

Zoe I have looked on ancestry beta and free bmd. Amy emma was born at St Thomas's Road,Hardway, in the sub district of Alverstoke, county of Southampton on 30th June 1904. As Alice was in York unmarried in 1901 census and is married on Amy's birth cert I have presumed they married between 1901 and 1904 Thanks Julie

Did you check after 1904 I looked at first two quarters of 1905 but really slow at the moment to download image, sometimes they get married after you think they have ~ very odd! Zoe

No Zoe I didn't with birth cert saying mother Alice Jane Amy White formally Hindle I presumed they married before Amy was born. I will check 1905/06 and let you know. Julie

Hi Zoe Couldn't find it in 1905/06.Suppose it will have to stay a mystery. Hopefully when1911 census comes out i will be able to get some info of that, eg where Arthur was born and when. Thanks for your time and help. Julie

I think I got so caught up in trying to find out where Thomas was born in Wales & thinking that none of them came from Sedgley, I forgot Mary always says place of birth Sedgley, Have possible record of birth will send for it to confirm mother maiden name. It really helps when someone has a fresh pair of eyes on a subject. Thankyou.

Hi Zoe Am stuck on the following: Margaret Emily RUSSELL born 1849 in Peckham, Camberwell Surrey married Walter Henry CAUDLE in 1877 in Camberwell. They had 2 sons: Walter Henry Caudle born 1879 in Dulwich, Camberwell and William Alfred CAUDLE born 1880 also in Dulwich. The father Walter Henry died in 1881 but I can find no trace of either Margaret or the younger son William after the 1881 census when she and her 2 sons were living with her sister Emma LAKER. In 1891 the elder son Walter is still living with his aunt but there is no sign of Margaret or her younger son! I would be very grateful if you could shed any light on this! Many thanks Regards Evie

A1: This can be found out by purchasing the birth cert of the last child Frederick then you would know if it was a different mother to the other children! Q2 When did E2 marry William? A2:Buying the birth certs to narrow it down(to time when mother's changed for marriage possibilities) will help and then you would know her maiden name. Q3 What was E2's married name? A3:?? Only one of their son with Emma Laker in 1891 and 1901. Can't find any deaths do you think they may have moved abroad ~ have you thought of asking for a passenger record lookup?
