hi lesley so many thanks for finding the surname of emma's mum. it really is great to fill in that piece of the puzzle, but i was wondering if you ever did find the 1901 census record for EMMA DUNN, born 1871 in crewe, cheshire. i think she may have married HENRY ARTHUR BROOKS in june quarter of 1893, in lambeth, london, and i am especially wanting to work out if i am right or if i have made an utter mistake. really, you have been a star with these lookups ;) THANKS A MILLION scott

Hi Lesley, I have just come across two marriages in 'View images' FreeBMD for Robert Howland in the Dec Q 1864. One tallies with an entry in IGI for Burton Agnes (Bridlington) and the other looks like Malton. My query is are you able to find this 'Malton Robert' in 1871 please. I know that this is not much to go on but I am sure you enjoy a challenge? Many thanks, Frances

Hi Lesley, I could not have done better if I had tried!!! O.K. there are 2 Robert Howland circa 1841 Yorkshire. 2 get married in Dec Q 1864, 1st in Burton Agnes (Registration district Bridlington) and 2nd in Malton. From IGI the Burton Agnes spouse is Mary Anne Taylor but the other I do not know. If you can find either Robert (or even both) in 1871 this should help me establish which is the correct ancestor. I think one of them marries again in Scarborough in 1876 - and you think you are confused!! Does that make it as clear as mud? Frances

FRANCES. ******************** I have thought that maybe because both of The Roberts Married 1864 in Yorkshire.....I think that it is the same one and it has been transcribed by two different people. A Lot of stuff on LDS site is not 100 % and many mistakes are noticed by people....So you have to be very open minded when doing searches on it.. I cant find another Robert Howland In Yorkshire in 1871 that would fit..... what do you think???? lesley :~)

Hi Lesley, I was just about to tell you that the 2nd Robert who gets married in Scarborough in 1876 is dead before 1881 and leaves 6 year old Arthur with his widow, in the York workhouse so what you have found is excellent in proving Robert son of Anthony is the correct spouse. Thank you so much. David p.s I found the two marriages in 'View Images' which is the original GRO isn't it so that other Robert has gone to ground in '71!

Yes, sorted thank you Lesley. I already have the other census for the Robert I had picked, so I still have the line back to 1743 at Hagworm Hill, Dalby lol David
