Hi Lesley I was wondering if you could find Harry Fitton in probably the Castleton area of Lancs. I don't know his year of birth but do know that he married Ellen Buxton in Rochdale 1903. His wife was born in 1883 so he was probably born around that time. Ellen was living in Castleton before she married. There seems to be a lot of Harry Fitton's in the area at that time, and I'm just hoping that one of them is in Castleton 1901. Thank you for the very kind offr of help. Roger

ROGER ************* just for reference. Bury Created 1st July 1837. Sub-districts : Birtle cum Bamford; Elton; Heywood; Holcombe; Lower Tottington; North Bury; Pilkington; Radcliffe; Ramsbottom; South Bury; Tottington Lower End; Walmersley; Whitefield. GRO volumes : XXI (1837-51); 8c (1852-1930). Ainsworth, Ashworth, Birtle cum Bamford, Bury, ***Castleton (from 1895),*** Elton, Heap, Heywood, Hopwood, Outwood, Pilkington, Pilsworth, Radcliffe, Ramsbottom, Tottington, Tottington Lower End, Unsworth, Walmersley cum Shuttleworth, Whitefield. Registers now divided between Bury and Rochdale districts **************************************************************************** As you said there are quite a few Harry Fitton's in the area so really the only way to find him on 1901 would be if you sent for their Marriage Cert that way you would get his Parents names...then I could narrow down the search.... Sorry :~( Lesley :~)

Hi Lesley Yet again you have come up trumps with James Linnion Dunne born 1906 in Wales not Ireland as I was led to believe. But am confused on mariage details - why 2 women's name plus another man??? Will have to see if I can find out a bit more from where. Many thanks again you are an angel. Regards Mary xx

MARY DUNNE ********************* On a lot of the Marriage entries there are more than one Couple that are on the same page....But sometimes you only get 3 names so have a missing Groom / Bride. So unless you know the Definate names of the Marriage you have to guess who married who....Or as on the page I gave you there are a total of 4 Names But both women are Mary's so very hard to know which couple married.... Hope that makes sence.. Lesley :~)

Hi Lesley If you want to add anymore to your long list I would like confirmation on these: Trying to trace a confirmed marriage of : JamesCOCK born Broadstairs Kent 1842 on 1851 census with his family but only know it was Putney Hill, Putney Surrey ,the finder did not give me the RG no:! family details of that census MISTRANSCRIBED as Cook and are as follows: 1851: Putney Hill, Putney, Surrey Edward Cook abt 1816 Margate, Kent, England Head Putney Surrey Edward Cook abt 1848 Putney, Surrey, England Son Putney Surrey James Cook abt 1841 Broadstairs, Kent, England Son Putney Surrey Mary Cook abt 1815 Broadstairs, Kent, England Wife Putney Surrey Maryann Cook abt 1843 Broadstairs, Kent, England Daughter Putney Surrey Sarah Cook abt 1845 Broadstairs, Kent, England Daughter Putney Surrey Mary Knott abt 1827 Broadstairs, Kent, England Niece Putney Surrey Edward senior is a Police Constable. Possibilities I could find of Free BMD were: James Cock married possible (Susan?)* Burton 1862 Islington, I can find a Susan & James on the 1881 census in Wilmington Kent. Also: His Sisters Sarah & Mary Ann, can you trace their marriages please, possibility Sarah Cock to James Knight Wandsworth 1868, can't find any that match on Mary Ann Would be great if you can trace/confirm for me Thanks Ingrid
