Hi Liz, think this is your Benjamin: 1851: think its in a school................ Benjamin Davis abt 1836 Norwood, Surrey, England Boarder Tonbridge Kent but no sign in 1841, there are a few born in Surrey, but none specify Norwood, so unless you have parents names we'll just be guessing !! also. Alice........................! i have found an Eliza R. Shubrook in New Bond st, dau of Francis & Rose in 1851 but nothing else i'm afraid !! any chance she was know as Eliza ??? as you can see now i'm clutching at straws!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jx

Hi Jane - thanks for the offer. I'm looking for an Elizabeth Waistell b in Liverpool c1848. If you could find her in 1851 and 61 that would be great. I got her marriage cert recently which told me her father's name was John but he was a mariner so may not be with the family. Any help much appreciated. Thanks Kate

Jane, That is great - and with J Harwood, son, being born c1840, adds to my theory that William Jr is not Eliza's son, since she didn't marry William Sr until 1849 when she was 21. I'm sure Eliza will show up somewhere. Any chance you can find William Harwood in 1841 with son J (?) That may give me the first wife's name and I can go from there. Many thanks. Margaret

Hi Jane , thanks for the offer. Could you try to find John Guerin on the 1861. He would be aged 13/14 born in Chatham Kent.There is one same name but is 16 and born in Canada. Unless he lied about age and birthplace to get in the navy it is definately not him. Also the name gets spelt wrongly quite often. Sue
