Hi Alicia Once again a little gem (or I should say 'several'!). The Bretnors do seem elusive, but I have just had an email from someone on a 'hot match' Bretnor that looks promising...... Is Christening the middle name of all the Bretnor siblings ? Or is used to mean something else? It just seems unusual. Many thanks and kind regards Linda

Hi Liz & Alicia Thank you for your kind offer. Could you check for a baptism of Mary CATLIN or CATLING (could even be CATLYNE) in Kedington, Suffolk around 1830. Parents may be Charles and Elizabeth. Hi Alicia, Can you do another look up for me on Robert Bruce who married Esther Sutherland 24/12/1791. I'm still trying to find out where and when he was born. His child was born In Halkirk, Caithness about 16 years before they were married. I just keep hitting brick walls on my search for him. Thank you so much for all your help in this. yvonne

Lynne Haines ***************** Hi Lynne, So sorry I am unable to help you, there were no matches for an Anthony Nixon birth/christening nor a Dorothy Brown birth/christening in Durham. I widenened the search but still no matches. I looked for a John Brown marriage in Durham and there were only 2 in the 1700's one in 1730 and the other in 1796 neither of them possibles. There were no John Nixon marriages in Durham to match your family. Liz x

Hello, Could I be cheeky and ask for two look ups please? I'm trying to find the birth of PATRICK BARRET, b.c1790, Roscommon, Ireland or his marriage to SIOBHAN LENAN, b.c1790, Roscommon Ireland. Their first son was born in 1811 in Roscommon, so I imagine they married around that time too. Siobhan was known as Sebiannae on her son's baptism. I think that's her name in Latin. Hi Liz n Alicia Me again! Now trying to trace great uncle and aunt, so hopefully there will be something before 1906! Charles Greensmith born Derby 1879 parents Henry G and Mary lemon.He married Martha (Bretnor?) c1898 and the 1901 census shows 2 children Emma E age 3 and John age 1 but can't find marriage or children's births. (I was given this info unverified). Can you help? Also Charles sister, Emma Jane Greensmith born c1883 Derby (from census 1891 and 1901) but can't find birth or possible marriage details.
