Can you discover details of Samuel Oakes born 15/2/1899 listed as Whitegate Cheshire - sub division was Over I think, entry no373 no48 witnessed 28/3/1899 Thought I had him on 1881 census but obviously the wrong one as my f-i-l has just produced a very battered birth cert for him born 1899! Hi Lesley, Thank you so much for the Rebecca Easterby lookup. Brilliant :~) We already have the 1851 census image as it contained a badly mistranscribed entry - my gg Grandfather. I was rather hoping that the 1841 census would turn up his mother Ann Sarah Stokes/Easterby (Rebecca's daughter). Another disappearing relative!! Alicia :~)
