JAN ******* After looking at the 1841's again 1st Family.... I THINK maybe Sarah is John's second wife as the youngest child Mary is aged 9 Months and the child above her is 21 yrs old that is a big age gap between 2 children.... all other info you have is the same as on image... Samuel 1770 (2nd Family) is the Head BUT I THINK they might be the Grandparents as they are both in the 70's and the children are all in their 20's... Ann (Wife) was not born in same county...Son Thomas OCC: Cotton Stacking. All other info you have is right. Im going to read the rest of your thread and see if I undrstand it lol Lesley :~) |

Hi Lesley Me again - hope you don't mind.Glad you like puzzles No hurry, just when you want something to do for a moment of boredom. You really are being such a big help on all this Could you look up again for me the following 2 families in the 1841 census and see if there are any details I've not been given, eg occupation for Samuel 1814 and Who is head in family 2? john 1791 f w k sarah 1781 samuel 1814 elizabeth 1819 ann 1820 mary 1840 living beggailee creasley (= greasley I think) ------ samuel 1770 ag lab ann 1765 samuel 1815 bleacher thomas 1821 george 1839 living back lane basford I have an possible theory emerging as I have just discovered that a Samuel Guyler married Elizabeth Guyler in 1845 (an Elizabeth is the mother of the later children) so this would possibly be my Samuel's 2nd marriage and his first which produced George and Mary Ann could be Samuel Guyler and Sarah Pearson in 1838. Maybe she died in childbirth? or soon after . So could you see also see if there is any sign of a Sarah Guyler (around the age of Samuel ie 1810 - 1820) in the 1841 census in Basford or any likely Pearson family in Basford. Also if there are any other Elizabeth Guylers (1815-1820) in Basford - her birth place is given as Beverlee (which = begailee =beaverlee = beggarlee - is counted later as Basford) If my hunch is correct, I think family 1 and 2 above, may be related. Sarah has just died, Mary Ann is staying with Aunt Sarah and Uncle John. My Samuel (1815 bleacher)is living with grandparents Samuel and Ann and his brother Thomas who help look after George who is 2. (Don't know where Samuel's parents are). Then Samuel marries the Elizabeth of family 1, his cousin in 1845 and the next baby arrives in 1847. The fact that in 1851 my Elizabeth and baby Mary Ann both list their birthplace as Beverlee (as opposed to Basford for Samuel and Georgesuggests it may be because she is at Begailee creasley (above) . If they had put relationships it would be a lot easier!! Thanks again Jan |
