Sue, that was just the nugget I needed! I looked at the names of the possible spouses and remembered Id come across one Edroff with the middle name of Summers - woo hoo. Ive found Mary and 2 kids in the 1851 with step dad William Summers - the kids mistranscribed as Caroff! Brill, ties in lovely with a contact who wanted to know about this lot - Id not done a lot on them, too hard to find. Mary was the sister of my GGFx3 - she and Thomas Edroff were witnesses to his marriage so I guess quite close. Hubby just come in, so I shall have to leave this, but just found the son, Henry Edroff owning a coffee shop in Southwark - other side of river - brilliant, all falling into place. Thanks for the kick start. |

Many thanks Sue, dont know how I missed that one - so poor old Thomas kicked the bucket before 1850 - still no sign of them on 1841. Must be badly mistranscribed. And there should be at least one kiddie Id have thought |

Hi Jean, there are several Ann White deaths in Manchester between 1846-1851 (easily found on the ancestry free BMD, Im afraid you wont know which one is her without ordering the certs. Any idea where Joseph Bellas and Elizabeth married? have you found them on any censuses? Where and when were their children born? There are a few possible marriages and baptism on the IGI have you chekced them? IGI can be found on: http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=igi/search_IGI.asp&clear_form=true Suzanne X |

Hi Suzanne, Thanks for the kind offer. Could you possibly try to find the following for me please. I have Alexander White b c 1803 Manchester married to Ann b c1816 Manchester, their first child was born in 1838 and their last child in 1846. On the 1851 census Alexander is listed as a widow, but i can't find any record of her death or their marriage. Also looking for the mariage of Josepth Bellas b c1804 Keswick Cumberland to Eliza or maybe Elizabeth b c1817 Liverpool. Their first child was born in c1843. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Best regards Jean |

Sue, if you have any left (Ive run out and since my credit card has been cloned I am waiting for a new one). I am flummoxed over the Edroffs. Mary Charlotte Hanson married Thomas Edroff in Hackney in 1831 but then they both disappear. If you really dont mind, could you do a quick one name search for the 1866-1920 period all districts just to see if they are anywhere as Im blowed if I can find them on any census at all. |

Hi Suzanne. Was wondering if you could check for the marriage of John Darlison. His first child (that we know of) was born c1803-5 in Canada. He was in the 6th Foot Regiment, and we are guessing that he married in Britain before being posted overseas. Could you check from about 1790 please. (alternative spellings Darlinson, Darlingson, Dallison, Darling, Dalison etc) Margaret |
