Hi Pen This is a long shot but could you find in 1841 or 51 census James (or Joshua) Bates (or Betts) born about 1800 in Teston,Kent (correct birth place). In 1834 he was living in London & had 7 children (from copy of old letter). Can you see how many Bates (Or Betts) were born in Teston,Kent? Thanks. Kerri

Hi Pen , Thanks for the info re Robert Gamble, most of the info fits the bill except that Robert is a little older than I expected from the 1841 census. However,as we have all learned, ages can be very variable and as other things fit then I think it is the right family. Thanks again John

The one i can't seem to find is Bessie Ellen Young lol born 1889, on the 1891 she is living with Hannah Dors (nee Young) her grandmother, her mother Betsy Young is there also as step daughter (unmarried) but i can't seem to find them after 1891. The Targett connection... Hannah's Parents were living nest door in 1891. thanks Nicky.x
