julie have found a birth of a victoria susannah colkett apr may june 1840 norwich norfolk vol 13 page 238 and a marriage of same 1874 hampstead london to either henry william hine or joseph davenport e tarr does this ring any bells?

Hi Sally would you be able to look in the 1841 and or 1851 census for me for: Isaac and or Sarah Hattersley Isaac born approx 1782 Sarah his wife I believe to be of a similar age. They were born and live in Yorkshire. Isaac was born in Ecclesfield near Sheffield, the pair married in Rotherham and settled to have a family in Wentworth. Isaac is listed in seperate sets of documentation as a nailor (nail maker) or a watchmaker. Also John and Hannah Evers born in Wath upon Dearne, Yorkshire. Hannah was born in 1790 and John around a similar time. many thanks in advance Sharon

Hello Sally, sorry only just seen your reply. The 'Colkett's' are definately from Greenwich. Don't know where Susannah can be - on the 1851 their name is mistranscribed as Colgate and her sister Jane is shown as Colgate on 1861, although other family members are on census as Colkett. Don't seem to be able to find a birth or marriage for her either. Thanks for your time. Julie

Hi Sally, Can you help? I have a marriage of Alfred Edward King to Louisa Blanche Trueson- according to free BMD.(Dec 1899 Northampton) In the 1901 census Alfred was shwon married to a Louisa, her birth is shown as Sunderland but I can find no trace of her, not in births on free BMD, not on 1881 census family search nor IGI. I believe she was born in 1881 so should be on the census but I cannot find any of her family. Can you look in the 1891 census? Could the marriage has been mistranscribed, can you check the name on ancestry? She must be somewhere!!! Thanks Chris.

Hi Sally, Ive just started at this, so any help would be appreciated so very much (not quite sure where to start) Im looking for John Martin (poss Martyn) cowan born in 1900 aprox, i know he married Hannah Carden in 1925 (she was born in 1902) both in LEEDS and they had 4 children, JAMES, JOHN, KATHLEEN and COLIN (the latter is my dad)> i cant find a birth record or a death record for him so any information you can find for me would be such a big help, im trying to do my family tree as a surprise for my dad for xmas,,,,,,,,,, but at this rate it will be xmas 2012!!! In the 1871 census I have Alice Davis b. 1867 Fulham, granddaughter, St Mary Abbott, London living with her grandparents Robert Taylor b. 1816 Westminster, Sarah Taylor b. 1815 Kensington, James Taylor b. 1848 Kensington & Henry/Harry Taylor b. 1855. Living at 13 North Row, Kensington. Just wondering if you can find Alice's parents for me - maybe in the 1881, 1891 and 1901 census and the family of Robert & Sarah for those census too. Robert & Sarah Taylor had 2 daughters Phoebe b. 1840 Kensington and Elizabeth .b. 1845 Kensington. Many thanks Zena

Zena, have tried 1881 census but, there are at least 5 alice davis born 1867 in the london area but, none says fulham. so can't be sure. could not find robert and sarah there were 649 roberts. sorry. do you know if alice had a second name as I looked at births. (lots). Sally

hi sally, your the angel i'm looking for. not sure if you can help but i cannot get past the following (only been doing this for a short amount of time and dont know what to do next) my GG Grandfather was called Thomas Meredith and he was a Bricklayer born 1850 in salop shropshire he married a lady called Rosanna who was born 1843 from Stafford as far as i am aware they had 2 children Daniel born 1893 and Edith born1887.that is as much as i have got. Daniel is my G grandfather so i know a bit about him but nothing before Thomas...thank you so much for your help. christine.

hi sally thanks for the offer. if you don't mind, please can you do an 1861/71 lookup for: JAMES ROBSON, born 1829 in tynemouth, northumberland. although, i only have tynemouth as his birthplace it is more than likely that it will be north shields, northumberland as most of the family seemed to have come from there. thanks for any help. congrats and many thanks, i am sure, for doing over 1000 searches for others. scott
