On the marriage cert, how old were the bride and groom? Who were the witnesses? Any addresses given? A location of some sort is essential for searching............ Reg |

I have been trying to reasearch my mothers family and am coming up against brick walls. My grandfather was called James Deadman born 13 july 1913 basingstoke. I got his birth certificate and it tells me his parents were james deadman and laura deadman nee marshall i have searched the census and have mangaed to find james listed as a border on the 1901 and 1891 census but can find no trace of him previous to that. I ordered james and laura's marriage certificate dec 1907 for more clues it lists james father as william deadman corperal in the grenadier guards deceased and laura's father as william marshall also deceased but no proffession. I have looked on the census for these two to see if i can find the names of james or laura's mother and siblings but have no luck. I don't know where to go next! If any body can help i would appreciate it! Thank you lorraine |
