Don't know if you can help but have been searching for the birth and death of Alexander Fraser born c 1800, who was rumoured to be from Culloden area. We know he married Elizabeth Mitchell and had the following children: Alexander, Isabella, Margaret, Mary, Harriet HS, Robert, Elspet and Samuel.
We believe that one of the above daughters (Isabella) married into the Findley family and another (Margaret) married into the Rae family. Elizabeth Mitchell was the daughter of Alexander and Agnes Mitchell, leading back to the Craigmyle family and a daughter was known as the fair maid of Craigmyle. Mary Fraser, mentioned above, married George Diack and they were my gggrandparents. Any help is greatly appreciated.

they had several children including robert my gt grandfather. they lived in pollokshaws. As you have the same surname could you be related.

Hi Anne Thanks very much for looking for Christina Cruickshanks - none of these are her as far as I can see. She is proving very elusive! Cruickshanks was her own family name and Shirer was the name used as her married name on her son Robert's marriage certificate in 1871.
