Hi again Penelope, Thank you so much for looking for me. I was just wondering if maybe they lived in Fife because Catherine McKenzie married Robert Ritchie in 1857 in Markinch - Fife & they were found on the 1881 Census but it's her parents I cannot find. On Catherine's marriage cert it states Alex McKenzie & Christina or Christian Angus as her parents. It also says that Catherine's usual place of residence was at Scotland Wells - Port Moak which made me automatically assume they lived in Perth but she could have just been a domestic servant working in Perth. Robert Ritchie's parents were William Ritchie & Jean Brunton from Markinch or Kennoway. Can you find any of them atall please? I have been searching for this family for a long time but just getting nowhere. Any help/advice would be really appreciated Penelope. Katherine

Hi Alastair, I think Charles must of died shortly after the marriage took place he is not on the later census. I can not spot any of the other children from the marriages, wondering if they ended up in a workhouse for a while and then went to live with them later on. Will take another look this afternoon. Pen Thanks a lot for the work done... the question of where the the Ellsbury children are in 1891 is interesting....Jane Ann Ellsbury married Robert Thompson in 1890 (also the year Christina Ellsbury is born) and the children from her marriage to Charles in 1884 are not living with her new husband in 1891 yet are resident by 1901... any info on Charles Elsbury after 1890 would be appreciated...as would any info prior to 1845 when Charles was born in Wylam to father George and mother Jane it has long been thought in the family that the original descendants were Elsbury with a single 'l' yet within a year of marriage Jane Ann is born and given a double 'l' suffix... and again any info on the children of the marriage would be gratefully received...

Hi Penelope, I was wondering if you would be kind enough to have a look & try to find my Gr Gr Gr Grandparents please. Christian Angus was born 1808 in Stromness Orkney and Alexander McKenzie was born 1800C in Perth Scotland As far as I know they lived in Perth & had a daughter called Catherine McKenzie. I do not have Catherine's date of birth but somewhere around 1836 - 1839 I think.I'm sure they had more children but do not have the details. Can you find them on 1841 Scottish Census Penelope?
